Republican Candidates faced off in a whirlwind debate at the Reagan Presidential Library. Politico’s John Harris and NBC News Anchor Brian Williams asked a series of questions that brought issues such as Obamacare, illegal immigration and Social Security into the debate.

Every republican candidate agreed that they wanted Obamacare to be done with and new leadership in office. They cited Obamacare as one of the reasons for high unemployment.

In response to a question from Harris about the philosophical disagreement in healthcare between states and which candidate had the better argument, Gingrich responded, “I’m frankly not interested in your effort to get republicans fighting each other. The fact is every person up here understands Obamacare is a disaster.”

Illegal immigration became another topic of debate when Telemundo’s Jose Dias stated that Ronald Reagan was the last president to enact immigration reform in 1986. All the GOP candidates have said that they don’t think immigration reform should be discussed until the border is secure.

Following the question towards Perry, “What specifically, in your mind, would make the border secure?” Perry answered with the ideas of using more National Guard troops and commitment from the federal government to secure the border. Romney stated that he would have a fence on the border and agents.

Social Security was mentioned in reference to the book Fed Up by Rick Perry. Social Security in Perry’s opinion is a “Ponzi scheme.” He continued to repeat this terminology when answering questions about the program and held strong to this belief, even when Cheney said it was not a Ponzi scheme. Romney responded “I will make sure that we keep the program, we make it financially secure, save social security and under no circumstances, and by any measure would I say it’s a failure.”
