Nuestra Palabra takes its Latino literature showcase on the road

Tony Diaz the founder of Nuestra Palabra, a Latino literature and literacy organization, has announced a state-wide book tour in Texas for critically acclaimed Latino authors. The group’s book events in Houston have been hugely successful. They plan to build on their grassroots efforts in Houston to draw large audience in venues around the state.
Nuestra Palabra has been serving Houston’s Latino community since 1998, and has organized the largest book events in Houston, ranging from book signings for the likes of Sandra Cisneros, and Pulitzer Prize Winner Junot Diaz, to stars such as Cheech Marin, Oscar De la Hoya, and Edward James Olmos.
Phase I of the Texas Tour will see Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio host events. Phase II will add El Paso, Mc Allen, and Corpus Christi to the list of cities Diaz wishes to target.
kick off event will be held in Houston November 17 with Mexican American writer Dagoberto Gilb.
