Hispanics in college and universities need help and mentors
Latinos in College has conducted various workshops in schools around Houston. This event will be their first in Houston for the entire family.
Latinos in College a non-profit that assists students and their families in choosing schools, finding funding and succeeding in college is coming back to Houston for a free workshop for the entire family. Mariela Dabbah, education expert and author, will talk about college access and career development.

“College starts as an almost unreachable dream for many Latino students,” said Dabbah in a previous workshop. Dabbah founded Latinos in College to help students find the resources, tools and connections they need to successfully graduate.

“There’s nothing wrong with dreaming. But if you want to make it to college, you need to connect your dreams with actions. You need to find the right people and resources to support that dream so it becomes a reality,” said Dabbah.

This free event will be hosted by Wal-Mart and is sponsored by Bedoyecta.
