Hundreds of wagging tails at Houston’s new dog park opening

The Johnny Steele Dog Park welcomed hundreds of dog owners and their four-legged friends for the grand opening celebration Saturday.
Named after one of Houston’s most well-known landscape architects, the 2-acre park located along Allen Parkway and Montrose Boulevard features dog washing areas, ponds, shade areas and plenty of green space for dogs to play. The park, which will close temporarily for reseeding in April, is part of the $58 million Buffalo Bayou Park-Shepherd to Sabine improvement project.
