Judge Andrew Hanen announced on Tuesday a temporary injunction to President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration.

It is important to point out these key points with this new ruling:

1) This is only a delay of the order, not a permanent cancellation.

2) This does not apply to those who have already applied for DACA under the 2012 guidelines. It also does not affect renewals.

3) People should continue to gather their documents and continue to prepare to apply for this executive order.

“We are disappointed in our state leadership who continues to waste our state resources in order to advance their own political agenda,” said Cesar Espinosa, executive director of FIEL.
