Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

Most people have the misconception that on Valentine’s Day you must buy expensive gifts, but that’s not always the case.Valentine’s Day is a holiday that celebrates love and friendship.

The truth is that sentimental gifts are often times of greater value than those that cost more. Besides the obvious gifts like flowers, chocolates, candy and stuffed animals, there are many other gift ideas that will be sure to make that special someone happy.

With the holiday just around the corner, here are a few ideas that are inexpensive and simple.

Baking is always a good idea because who doesn’t enjoy eating, right? Things like cakes, cupcakes, brownies, cookies, pies, cheesecakes, chocolate-covered strawberries, rice crispy treats, (you get the point) are quite simple to make. You can easily personalize them by using heart shaped cookie cutters, or writing cute messages on them with frosting. Besides, people often say that the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach.

Sweets aren’t their thing? Buy or make a pizza and cut it into the shape of a heart. If you want to go all out, then make them an entire dinner that can be the date and gift.

If cooking or baking isn’t your forte, you can try arts and crafts. If you’ve been with this person for a while, you can make a memory box or scrapbook and fill it with things you know will make your sweetheart smile. You can include pictures, movie tickets, letters, notes, and throw just about anything that is meaningful to both of you. You can paint them a picture, or even buy two white mugs and personalize them. You can both have matching mugs or a personalized picture frame with a picture of you together.

If neither baking, cooking, nor arts and crafts is your thing, then you can try making them a goodie bag or basket filled with things they love. You can purchase their favorite snacks to munch on, or buy their favorite drinks and add sticky notes with sweet messages.

Just remember it’s the thought that counts. Think of the things they love and what you’re good at. They’ll love almost anything as long as it comes from you. So don’t stress and have a sweet Valentines Day.

Hearts and kisses,
Maria Aguilera
