Rice University and its student organization Rice Salseros are putting on the inaugural Salsa Explosion, an event open to everyone interested in salsa dancing.

Salsa Explosion features salsa workshops led by special guest instructors, professional dance performances, and ballrooms featuring social dances. There will be space for both salsa aficionados to strut their stuff and for newcomers to ask questions and get introduced.

Guests include Amaya Dance, Rice alumni Gabriel and Denise Yamal, and DJ Saoko.

The event will run from 9 AM to 2 PM on April 24, in the Rice University Memorial Center’s grand hall. More information can be found on the Rice Salseros Facebook group or at salseros.blogs.rice.edu. For tickets, visit signup.rice.edu/salsaexplosion.
