Thanksgiving Confessions: What are the homeless thankful for?

Every year, people prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving and the holidays with their families, their friends and their loved ones in the comfort and warmth of their home.

But this isn’t the case for everyone.

In 2014, there were more than 5,000 homeless people in Houston, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. So this Thanksgiving, while some gather around the table to give thanks to their jobs, their health and the their home-cooked meals, others are just thankful to be alive.
