Man shoots TV over video game, teen sister injured after bullet goes through wall

Kevin Castillo, a 21-year-old man, has been arrested by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office after he fired a handgun in his home while playing a video game on Saturday, Sept. 16.
Castillo fired the gun into the television and the bullet went through the wall and struck his 13-year-old sister who was sitting on a bed.
Castillo is charged with reckless injury to a child.
Family members pressed towels to the girl’s wound behind her right ear. She was transported to Memorial Hermann Medical Center where she is in good condition.
Castillo claims he pulled the magazine from the handgun, but in this incident he failed to remove the round chambered in the barrel.
He was released after posting a $30,000 bond and his first court appearance is December 02, 2016 in the 230th felony court.
Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Child Abuse Unit have arrested and charged a 21 year old man for reckless injury to a child after he fired a handgun in his home while playing a video game on Saturday, September 16, 2016 at 2:45 pm in northwest Harris County.
