From SBISD:

Please be advised that Spring ISD schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 25, to allow families and staff time to prepare for Hurricane Harvey. We will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and currently expect to notify families and staff Saturday if district schools and offices will remain closed on Monday. As previously communicated, all after-school activities have been canceled for Friday and Saturday.

The SAT scheduled for Saturday at Spring High School has also been canceled. A make-up date has not yet been set.

Should a decision be made to close on Monday, the district will make the announcement through the Blackboard Connect automated messaging system via phone, email and text to parents and staff, on SpringISD.orgfacebook.com/SpringISDtwitter.com/SpringISD, the Spring ISD Newsline at 281-891-6002 and the Spring ISD Mobile App. You may download the app for free in the Apple store or Google play. In addition, the message will be broadcast over major radio and TV stations.

All members of the Spring community are urged to pay attention to weather reports from the local media, the National Hurricane Center and the National Weather Service.  A good source of information and tips for local emergency preparedness also can be found at ReadyHarris.org.
