Latin Restaurant Weeks is turning up the heat in Houston this summer from June 2nd- June 16th, with a two week initiative to support local Latin restaurants and professionals in Houston’s culinary scene.

Benefiting the Houston Hispanic Health Coalition, Latin Restaurant Weeks focuses on introducing Houstonians to participating Latin-owned restaurants in efforts to increase traffic and awareness. LRW kicks off this Sunday with a two week restaurant showcase. Visit any of the 25+ participating restaurants to receive special prices on an exclusive LRW menu. Whether you’re a self proclaimed foodie, blogger or tastemaker, missing out on these deals is just not an option. Check out the line-up below.

In addition to the restaurant showcase, LRW is also hosting 3 signature events to bring patrons and the culinary community together. Flavorful adventures, learning opportunities and meeting new talent are all apart of the LRW journey. Get ready to celebrate the richness and diversity of Houston’s Latin cuisine and all it has to offer.

Leading the Industry

La Mesa is a round table business discussion for aspiring entrepreneurs and existing restaurant owners. This event is the training and educational component of LRW. A panel of business industry professionals will provide insight, resources and share experiences with community members who are ready to take their business to the next level. Several areas of expertise will be represented to provide a well rounded discussion from all angles of the culinary industry. Special speakers include Chef Cesar Cano from Masterchef, Chef Omar Pereney and A La Carte Restaurant Consulting. The discussion will be led by Ingrid Barrera of Telemundo Houston.

Sampling and Planning

If the only thing on your agenda is to marvel at gourmet food and you don’t have any plans to join the restaurant industry, then get ready to add Sabor to your calendar! This catering showcase is every foodie’s dream. An evening of food sampling and recognition to 20 different local caterers who deserve to have their cuisine highlighted. Wine and Dine

An initiative first of its kind is well deserving of a grand finale and that’s exactly what you can expect with La Sopresa. This signature pop-up dinner will exemplify the fine dining experience. A five course Latin-American feast, craft cocktail pairings and formal attire is all the information that has been leaked so far. Guests will be surprised with venue location, menu and entertainment on the day of the event. If you’re an adventurous foodie and an avid lover of H-town, then La Sopresa is calling your name.
