Connie Leon, Founder of Houston Latina Bloggers, started her blog in 2009 while working for Harris County. It started as a project to practice writing, but while pregnant, she created a community of caring mothers.  While looking to other bloggers for inspiration like Heather Armstrong, Connie has evolved into the leader of Houston’s premiere blogger network for Latinas.

Her advice to upcoming bloggers and influencers-

  • “No matter how small you are, you need to reach out to brands and let them know you are available”
  • “Everything doesn’t have to be picture perfect”
  • “It’s ok to say no to sponsorships, be truthful to yourself”

Connie Gomez: Houston Latina Blogger

The biggest change in Connie’s life since she has been blogging is living life in the public eye.  According to Connie, her social media presence closely mirrors her real life, but her visibility does make her think more about her decisions.

In the next five years, Connie is looking to professionalize Houston Latina Bloggers by connecting companies to social media and digital influencers.
